Choosing the right Power and Data solution for your office
You've selected your software and hardware, what's next?
It's time to explore power and internet options!
The location of your mount will be the determining factor for choosing your power solution. Most deployments will require a Power over Ethernet Adapter as power outlets are often not easily accessible at each mount location.
What is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) Adapter?
A PoE Adapter is a small device that draws power from a network connection using an ethernet cable and allows the tablet to receive power while also being tapped into a local network.
Where will the PoE Adapter be stored?
PoE placement is decided by the type of PowerBx mount you choose to deploy. Wall mounts, such as the ICON LED Wall Mount, Classic Wall Mount, and LITE Wall Mount, are mounted to gangbox. The PoE will rest inside this gangbox within the wall.
Door and Glass Mounts, such as the LITE Door Mount and LITE Glass Mount, will require the PoE be placed in the ceiling above the enclosure. However, the ICON LED Door Mount and Classic Door Mount have sufficient room within the enclosure to store the PoE inside the mount. The entire EVO Series have the ability to store a PoE within the mount, as well.
How will my tablet connect to the internet?
WiFi is the most common solution, but it's not the best option for every deployment. PowerBx offers a sleek alternative, the Gigabit + PoE Adapter, designed and manufactured by Redpark. The Gigabit + PoE Adapter powers your tablet while simultaneously providing internet through an ethernet connection. Please note, the Gigabit + PoE Adapter is only compatible with iOS devices.
