ADA Guidelines in the Workplace
Looking to make your office more accessible? Using ADA guidelines, you can ensure employees with disabilities have access to services and facilities in your workplace.
What is the ADA?
ADA.gov describes the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as "one of America's most comprehensive pieces of civil rights legislation that prohibits discrimination and guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to participate in the mainstream of American life -- to enjoy employment opportunities, to purchase goods and services, and to participate in State and local government programs and services."
Passed in 1990 and amended in 2008, the ADA exists to provide equal opportunities for people with disabilities in all facets of public life.
