Redpark USB-C Ethernet Cable for iPad — POS, Kiosk & Commercial
SKU: CAB-C5-NET
Redpark USB-C Ethernet Cable for iPad POS, Kiosk & Commercial Deployments
The Redpark C5-NET USB-C Ethernet Cable connects a USB-C iPad or iPhone directly to gigabit ethernet — no adapter, no dongle, no separate power brick. Just plug the USB-C end into your iPad and the RJ45 end into your network switch. Instantly recognized by iOS as a wired network connection available to any app.
Designed for commercial deployments where Wi-Fi reliability isn't good enough: retail POS counters, restaurant terminals, kiosk systems, self-checkout lanes, inventory stations, and any environment where a dropped connection means a failed transaction.
Built for Point of Sale & Commercial iPad Deployments
Wi-Fi works until it doesn't. In dense retail and hospitality environments — crowded stores, busy restaurant floors, high-traffic lobbies — Wi-Fi congestion is a constant threat to POS uptime. The C5-NET eliminates that risk entirely. One cable, wired gigabit, always on.
- 300+ Mbps real-world throughput — fast enough for payment processing, inventory sync, and real-time data
- Zero interference — immune to Wi-Fi channel congestion, Bluetooth interference, and RF noise
- Instant recognition — iOS sees it as an ethernet connection the moment it's plugged in
- No drivers or setup — configure via iOS Settings app, DHCP or Static IP
- Extend with any RJ45 coupler — attach standard Cat5e/Cat6 cable to reach any network drop
Point of Sale & Kiosk Use Cases
- Retail POS terminals — reliable wired connection for Square, Clover, Toast, Lightspeed, Shopify POS on iPad
- Restaurant & hospitality POS — host stand, bar, and server terminals with consistent wired uptime
- Self-checkout & unattended kiosks — 24/7 wired connectivity where Wi-Fi dropouts are unacceptable
- Inventory & warehouse management — real-time stock lookups and scanning on wired network
- Digital signage & queue displays — always-connected iPad displays on existing ethernet runs
- Mobile POS carts — lightweight, no-bulk cable for cart-based checkout systems
- Field sales & trade show terminals — connect to hardwired ethernet wherever Wi-Fi is congested or unavailable
- Healthcare check-in kiosks — HIPAA-compliant wired network for patient-facing iPad terminals
Why Choose Wired Ethernet for iPad POS?
Payment processing demands consistency. A single dropped connection means a failed transaction, a frustrated customer, and potential data integrity issues. Wired ethernet gives you:
- Sub-5ms latency — faster payment authorization and inventory response times
- Deterministic uptime — no reconnection delays, no DHCP timeouts mid-transaction
- Network segmentation — put POS devices on a dedicated VLAN for PCI DSS compliance
- IT-manageable — static IP assignment, network monitoring, and MAC address tracking all work natively
- No Wi-Fi infrastructure dependency — POS works even if the access point fails or is overloaded

FAQ
Does this work with Square, Clover, or Toast?
Yes. iOS presents the C5-NET as a standard ethernet connection. All major POS apps use it automatically — no special configuration needed.
Can I use it without a power connection?
Yes. The cable is ethernet-only — it draws minimal power from the iPad (less than 1W). Your iPad battery will drain normally unless it's separately charged.
Can I extend the cable?
Yes — attach a standard RJ45 coupler to the cable's ethernet end, then connect any length of Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6A cable to reach your network switch or wall jack.
What if I also need to charge the iPad?
Use the C6-NETPOE (adds PoE charging over ethernet) or the C6-NETUSBC (adds USB-C charger port). Both are available on our iPad PoE Adapter page.
Is this PCI DSS compatible?
The cable itself is a passive network interface — PCI DSS compliance is determined by your network architecture, not the adapter. Wired ethernet makes it easier to achieve PCI DSS segmentation via VLAN compared to Wi-Fi.
Does it work with Mac or Windows?
Primarily designed and tested for USB-C iPad and iPhone. Limited testing shows it also works with Mac and Windows PC.
