Should I use an iPad or iPad mini?
A conference room management solution requires three things: software, a mount, and a tablet. So far in your preparation to deploy a solution, you’ve selected which software meets the needs of your office and you’ve narrowed down which Powerbx mount looks best near your conference room. The last step is to determine the kind of tablet to use. With so many options, this can be a daunting task. Due to their cost and popularity, most of our clients end up going with either the iPad or iPad mini. So what are the main differences between the two?
Size
For starters, the size. The iPad 9.7 is 9.4 x 6.6 x .29 inches and has a diagonal screen display of 9.7 inches. On the other end of the size spectrum is the iPad Mini 5. It was released in March of this year and measures 8 x 5.31 x .24 inches. It has a 7.9 inch diagonal screen display.
So the question you need to ask is what size of screen display do you want for your conference room management solution? The answer comes down to personal preference. In most cases, the iPad mini works just fine. Even though it’s on the smaller side, text is still easy to read. Plus its compact size fits well in most spaces. However, the iPad 9.7 may be a better choice if you are displaying the tablet in a larger area, like a lobby.
Cost
The iPad and iPad mini are the most budget friendly options of the Apple tablet family. The iPad starts at $329. If you purchase the maximum amount of storage and a connectivity package, it tops out at $559. The iPad mini begins at $399. If you opt for the maximum storage and connectivity package on this tablet, it will end up being $679.
Storage
When it comes to storage, each tablet has two options. The iPad comes with either 32 GB or 128 GB worth of storage. On the other hand, the iPad mini is available with 64 GB or 256 GB. Conference room management software does not require a lot of storage, so in most cases you’ll be just fine with the least amount of storage.
